Wondering if Girl Scouts is a good fit for your girl and your family?
Girl Scouts is about building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. As a Girl Scout, your girl will take on new challenges with grit like a go-getter, problem solve like an innovator, embrace challenges like a risk-taker, and show empathy like a leader! She’ll do all this through girl-led opportunities based on our Girl Scout Leadership Experience – a one-of-a-kind programming that help girls take the lead—in their own lives and in the world.
There are two new ways you can learn about Girl Scouts and set your girl up for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure.
1. Attend an online, informational open house
Virtual open houses will be held every Thursday at 7 p.m. CT (6 p.m. MT) and last about 30 minutes. A Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska staff member will tell you about the skills girls learn, the ways they can participate, and the benefits of being a Girl Scout. And, will answer all your questions!
The open houses are free and will be held on Zoom. You must register to be sent the Zoom login and password information. Please register at least 24 hours before an open house to allow us time to send you the link.
2. Attend a virtual troop meeting
Online troops are now forming for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Girl Scouts. Parents and caregivers should attend the 30-minute meeting with their girl.
- Meetings for Daisy-age girls (K-1) and Brownie-age girls (2-3) are on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. CT (6 p.m. MT)
- Meetings for Junior-age girls (4-5) are on Mondays at 7 p.m. CT (6 p.m. MT)
The virtual meetings will mirror in-person Girl Scout meetings with interactive activities and fun, traditional ceremonies. Girls will even begin earning their first Girl Scout badges.
Meetings will be held on Zoom and are free to try! You must register to be sent the Zoom login and password information. Please register at least 24 hours before a meeting to allow us time to send you the link.
We can’t wait to welcome you and your girl to our Girl Scout family!
